My name is Brandon R. Bowman, those who really know me would say I am many things. While others only see me as an "artist," or a teacher. You may call me an "artist" but I really do not like that title anymore. Too many use it when it does not apply. Call me a "Visualist." A teacher, an illustrator, painter, sculptor, potter, craftsman, photographer, videographer, whatever just don't call me Al.

My life has been filled with adventure, experience and excitement. From a very young age art has been a major part of my life, nurtured and constantly encouraged. When I say young I do mean YOUNG, from the time that I could hold a pencil I have been creating and developing the necessary skills (special thanks to my Father for this.) needed to create works of art. Many "artists" attempt to master one media or one discipline of the many available forms of visual arts, but that has never been and will never be enough for me. I believe; if it can be done by someone else then I can do it also.

Kent State University, that is where I continued my studies as a visual artist earning two degrees thus far. A BFA with a major in painting, with enough credits to say I could have chosen sculpture or drawing. And a second BFA in Art Education K-12. I currently teach high school art, 9-12. I find this at times to be rewarding and challenging, two positive things for any occupation.

I appreciate and enjoy almost any and all Art. I am not fond of any self proclaimed "artist" who justifies their work or their unearned title of "artist" by using the B.S. statement "there are no rules," or "rules are meant to be broken." You can not break the rules of traditional art, without first leaning them. Too many these days call themselves "artists." It is a shame, perhaps it is not their fault. In fact I am begining to think it is the ignorance of an uneducated society.

Along with Art, my other interests are movies, travel, gaming, animation, humanities, cooking, fitness, technology, science, astronomy, and much much more.
